For this tutorial you will need:

PAINT SHOP PRO (Trial Version)

SUPER BLADE PRO (Optional)

FM TILE TOOLS (Demo Version)

FILTER FACTORY GALLERY F

You will also need an image of your choice, or if you wish to use the same image that I am using, click here. If anyone knows who the artist is of this image, please email me with the name so that I can give the artist proper credit for his/her work.

You will also need the diamond pattern that I'm using; you can get it here.

Okay, let's get started with our frame!!

1. Open your image in PSP; Shift+D to make two copies of your image; minimize one of your images and close out your original. Click on your selection tool and set to ellipse, feather 0, antialias checked. Go to the center of your image and draw an ellipse around the main part of your image. If you are using the image that I provided, place your cursor at 180,225.

2. Selections/Invert. Effects/PluginFilters/Filter Factory Gallery F/Scrambler using the default setting of 27 for Intensity.

3. Effects/PluginFilters/Filter Factory Gallery F/Moire Blocks using the default settings.

4. Effects/PluginFilters/FM Tile Tools/Blend Emboss using the default settings.

5. Set your foreground color to #F0EAC5; Effects/Artistic Effects/Hot Wax Coating. Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen. Selections/Invert. Selections/Float. Effects/3D/Effects/Cutout using these settings: Opacity 59; Blur 15; Vertical 5; Horizontal 5. Repeat cutout changing the vertical and horizontal to -5.

6. Selections/Invert. Reapply both cutouts; Opacity 59; Blur 15; Vertical 5; Horizontal 5; then change vertical and horizontal settings to -5. Selections/Select None.

7. Set your background color to white (#FFFFFF). Image/Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked. Grab your magic wand (tolerance 0 feather 0) and click on your border to select. Apply your favorite BP preset or goldfill pattern. I'm using textured gold.

8. Image/Add Borders 20 pixels symmetric checked. Click on your border with the magic wand to select. With your dropper tool, select a color from your graphic that you want to use on your frame and make this your foreground color. I'm using color #6A3106. Floodfill your selected border with your foreground color. Now, switch your foreground color to patterns and select the diamond fill that I supplied. (Scale 50% Angle 0). Floodfill your border with the diamond pattern. Effects/PluginFilters/FM Tile Tools/Collage-Circular. Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen. Keep selected.

9. Effects/3D Effects/Cutout using these settings: Opacity 59; Blur 15; Vertical 5; Horizontal 5; repeat cutout using -5 for both the vertical and horizontal settings.

10. With your background set to white (#FFFFFF), Image/Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked. Click on the white border with your magic wand to select. Apply your favorite BP preset or goldfill pattern. Selections/Select None.

11. Change your background color to black (#000000). Image/Add Borders 15 pixels symmetric checked. Change your background color back to white; Image/Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked. Click on your white border with the magic wand to select and then apply your BP preset or goldfill pattern. Selections/Select None.

12. Image/Add Borders 25 pixels symmetric checked. Click on your border with your magic wand to select. Change your foreground palette to patterns and select your minimized image (Scale 100% Angle 0). Floodfill your selected border with your pattern. Do not deselect.

13. Selections/Float. Effects/PluginFilters/Filter Factory Gallery F/Moire Blocks using the settings shown below.

14. Change your foreground palette back to colors and set to #F0EAC5. Effects/Artistic Effects/Hotwax Coating. Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.

15. Effects/3D Effects/Cutout using these settings: Opacity 59; Blur 15; Vertical 5; Horizontal 5; repeat cutout changing the vertical and horizontal settings to -5. Selections/Select None.

16. Image/Add Borders 3 pixels symmetric checked. Select the white border with your magic wand and apply your favorite BP preset or goldfill pattern. Add corner dings if desired. Resize to desired size, remembering to go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen after you resize. And that's it!!
